Opportunities & Threats of British Airways

The completion of terminal 5 is predicted to strengthen and improve customer experience, keep the company more affordable, grow British Airways’ functions and create corporate responsibility a popular part of the company. The company is also in the process improving its products and services which is predicted to draw in more travelers. Next, British Airways to present a series of cheap 'budget' flight tickets within the UK and European countries. With this release British Airways can contend against easy-jet for this market as they offer a much better service and have a better reputation

One threat for British Airways is extreme competitors. The airline travel operates in extremely aggressive markets. British Airways face direct competitors from other airways on its tracks, as well as from oblique flight tickets, rental services and from other ways of transport. Some competitors have cost components that are lower than British Airways’ or have aggressive advantages such as government support. The airline’s providers, in which the airline is extremely reliant, are in possibility of business failing because of the present economic condition. The failing of a key provider may cause important interruption to the airline’s operation. Moreover, protection is also a threat for British Airways. Failure to prevent or react to a major protection or security occurrence could negatively impact the airline’s functions and economic performance. Another critical risk is further destruction in the international economic system. If the international economic system continues to decrease, the budget of British Airways will be affected.
